Who discovered Machupicchu?
Well, no, Hiram Bingham did not discover Machu Picchu. The morning that Hiram Bingham "re-discovered" Machu Picchu, he spent 5 hours in front of "his find" with his camera Eastman Kodak. The site seemed to be "Vilcabamba", the "lost city of the Incas" that had looked so much. Unsure of what he had found, before leaving, Bingham drew an inaccurate sketch of the temple of the Three Windows in which an inscription was noted that read "A. Lizárraga 1902 "; a day later, on July 26, 1911 Bingham wrote in his diary: "Agustín Lizárraga is the discoverer of Machu Picchu". This information was deleted in the copies of Bingham's diary.
